Our Physician

NMAEC (Northern Maine Ambulatory Endoscopy Center) is an ASC that opened in 1996, led by Dr. William Silber. Dr. Silber is a gastroenterologist, a physician that specializes in the digestive system. He currently is the only gastroenterologist north of Bangor, and offers 20 plus years of experience.

Dr. Silber was born in Montreal, Quebec and attended the University of Ottawa where he was awarded the highest standing in biochemistry. He then attended medical school at the University of Toronto and graduated in 1983. Dr. Silber did his internship and residency at St. Raphael Hospital, a Yale affiliate, in New Haven, CT. He then completed a 3 year fellowship in gastroenterology at Lahey Clinic and New England Deaconess Hospital, a Harvard affiliate.
